Here is a reminder - you could face a penalty if you have not signed up for health insurance by March 31. If you are not employed and too young for Medicare, your new insurance will probably come with a helpful subsidy. Certain people who have had trouble signing up might get extra time beyond March 31. Here is a link towhere you can find your state exchange. 2. RMD. If you turned 70.5 last year you have until April 1 of this year to take out the Required Minimum Distribution from your 401k or IRA. Failure to do so results in a 50% penalty! | Social Security is probably the most important component of your retirement security.
